Starting with a plan
I proposed this project for graduating at the Eindhoven University of Technology. I wanted to graduate as a designer who goes beyond the functionalities of new products. My designs raise motivations. They let people experience the unknown or see their activities from a new perspective. I combined this quest with my love for music and proposed to design an interactive music experience!
During the preparation phase of this project, I built several prototypes to explore the creation of rhythm for novices. I explored the use of feedforward with lighting drum pads and the sonification of everyday rhythms such as finger tapping.

BLANK

Exploring the interaction by using technology was interesting, but what my project really needed was a firm context. I found a client, BillyBird Facilities B.V. who was interested in the creation of an interactive music experience. BillyBird Facilities is a company that develops and runs recreational parks with a regional focus. Interactivity is extra valuable in a context of repeated visitors.
